Incheon Yeonsu District Strengthens Integrated Care for Seniors... Expands Specialized Services Such as "Nutrition Care"
Incheon Yeonsu District is expanding its "Ondongne Integrated Care" program to help senior citizens live healthy and stable lives in their own communities, thereby strengthening the region-based integrated care system.
According to the district office on August 27, since launching the main phase of the medical and nursing integrated care project in March, the district has established partnerships with specialized organizations in daily living, housing, and health. Starting next month, two new services—"Premium Nutrition Care" and "Sparkling Bathroom Cleaning"—will be added, increasing the number of locally tailored services from 12 to 14.
"Premium Nutrition Care" provides low-sugar, high-protein beverages, probiotics, and fresh ready-to-eat meals to support the nutrition of seniors who require dietary management. "Sparkling Bathroom Cleaning" involves professionals visiting selected households to assist with bathroom cleaning and hygiene management.
The district is broadening its scope beyond medical and nursing care to include meal support, laundry, improvements to living environments, cognitive exercises, and care services utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT), thereby covering all aspects of daily life.
In addition, the district utilizes its 15 administrative welfare centers as community hubs for integrated care to identify individuals in need and connect them to appropriate services based on their health and living conditions. This approach focuses on helping seniors continue to live in their familiar homes and communities rather than relying on hospitals or care facilities.
For service applications and more details, residents can receive guidance at the integrated care desks at their local administrative welfare centers.
