Lee Joong-geun, Chairman of Booyoung Group and Chairman of the Woojung Education and Culture Foundation, has awarded scholarships to 98 foreign students studying at universities in Korea.
According to Booyoung Group on the 27th, Chairman Lee attended the '2026 Second Semester Foreign Student Scholarship Award Ceremony,' which was recently held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul, and provided scholarships totaling approximately 400 million won to 98 students from 32 countries.

View original imageThe Woojung Education and Culture Foundation, founded by Chairman Lee in 2008 with his personal funds, has been supporting foreign students since 2010. Scholarships are awarded twice a year. Starting in 2013, the foundation expanded the list of eligible countries and raised the annual scholarship amount per person to 8 million won.
Chairman Lee stated, "I applaud your passion as you pursue your dreams in a new environment," and added, "I hope you will serve as a bridge connecting your home countries and Korea by spreading positive influence."

Alongside the scholarship program, Chairman Lee continues to contribute to the education sector through donations. Booyoung Group has supported dormitories at over 130 elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as universities nationwide, and last year donated 20 billion won for the renovation of a KAIST dormitory. According to Booyoung Group, the cumulative amount donated by the group totals 1.22 trillion won, with Chairman Lee's personal donations totaling 268 billion won.
