Hanwha Aerospace Establishes 'Hanwha Horizon USA' to Accelerate Global LNG Value Chain Expansion
Hanwha Aerospace has established its subsidiary, Hanwha Horizon USA, in the United States, officially launching its global liquefied natural gas (LNG) business.
Hanwha Horizon USA will serve as the control tower for Hanwha Aerospace's LNG business, overseeing all aspects such as procurement, trading, and logistics optimization.
James Sagar, CEO of Hanwha Shipping (Hanwha Shipping) who has 30 years of experience in the maritime and energy sectors, will also concurrently serve as the head of Hanwha Horizon USA.

Hanwha Aerospace's strategy is to secure its competitiveness in global business by using Hanwha Horizon USA as the core to build an LNG value chain that spans transportation, supply, and power generation.
For example, the company plans to supply fuel to Hanwha Energy's Yeosu LNG Power Plant, which will begin commercial operation in 2029, and expand LNG supply to domestic and international power generation companies and energy firms.
In the mid to long term, Hanwha Aerospace also aims to fully accelerate its LNG trading business in global markets, including Asia.
The company explained that this full-scale LNG business expansion is intended to contribute to South Korea's energy security and to strengthen energy security cooperation between South Korea and the United States amid rapidly changing international conditions.
Hanwha Aerospace also expects to realize an integrated security partnership across customer countries, energy, and the defense industry through the establishment of a stable LNG supply chain.
Earlier, Hanwha Aerospace secured a stable supply base by signing an LNG purchase agreement with Venture Global, a U.S. LNG producer.
The company has also signed a "business agreement to establish Team KOREA for global LNG cooperation" with Korea Southern Power, aiming to strengthen competitiveness in LNG procurement and diversify supply routes.
Recently, the company received an A- credit rating from global rating agency Standard & Poor's (S&P), further enhancing its financial competitiveness for LNG business expansion.
