This agreement was established to combine the expertise of both organizations to verify the reliability and field applicability of AI-based disaster monitoring technology, and to connect this to insurance integration and subsequent commercialization.

Focus AI's integrated disaster monitoring AI solution is a system that uses artificial intelligence (AI) CCTV to detect early signs of fire, such as flames and smoke, as well as industrial site hazards, and monitors them in real time. While traditional CCTV systems have been limited to simple video surveillance, this solution analyzes video information in real time using AI, enabling early detection of fire signs and dangerous situations.

The two organizations plan to expand the platform into an intelligent safety management solution that will not only address fires, but also integrate facility safety and various disaster risks, by adding features such as monitoring changes in facility conditions, abnormal behavior detection, and integration with complex environmental sensors.

Under the agreement, the organizations will cooperate in five fields: (1) FILK certification and performance evaluation of the integrated disaster monitoring AI solution; (2) on-site proof-of-concept (PoC) at apartment building underground parking lots, logistics centers, industrial facilities, and disaster-prone sites; (3) operation of an integrated testbed and data collection using the technology base of the association's Disaster Prevention Testing and Research Institute; (4) AI performance enhancement and verification of risk mitigation effects through analysis of proof data; and (5) advancement of insurance risk assessment research and connection to research and development (R&D) projects.

The association plans to verify the solution’s detection performance, operational stability, and applicability across diverse sites, and to analyze the risk mitigation effects using fire and industrial safety data collected during the proof process. Focus AI, in turn, will use the results of these demonstrations to refine its technology and expand its business into the insurance industry and industrial sites.

Based on the demonstration results, both organizations will also jointly examine the potential for linking insurance risk assessment with the fire insurance system. In addition, the scope of cooperation will be expanded through subsequent research support projects and large-scale demonstration projects.

Going forward, the organizations will broaden the application of AI CCTV-based safety management technology to the areas of fire, disaster, and everyday safety, and develop a preventive, integrated risk management model that can analyze abnormal signs using accumulated data and predict and diagnose risks in advance.
