Organized by the Center for Positive Impact under the company’s Social Contribution Promotion Group, the seminar featured lectures given directly by employees and executives, sharing practical field know-how with future finance and real estate professionals.
The Hanyang University Real Estate Society SHARE (Students of Hanyang Univ. & Real Estate), founded in 2019, brings together students from diverse academic backgrounds including architecture, management, economics, and urban studies, who research real estate industry and capital market issues from a broad perspective.
The program featured in-depth sessions spanning practical capital raising, the latest alternative investment sectors, and social responsibility.
The first session centered on "Growth Mechanisms of Corporations and Real Estate, and Structural Similarities in Capital Raising." The lecture compared how corporations raise funds and expand their business according to different stages of growth with the structure through which real estate development projects verify their feasibility and attract funding, explaining the common principles of capital procurement that apply to both fields.
The next session, under the theme "Understanding Data Centers," covered the structure and operational methods of data centers, which have recently drawn attention due to the expansion of the artificial intelligence and cloud industries. It also addressed key factors to consider from an investment perspective, thereby deepening students’ understanding of this sector.
Another session discussed "CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Strategies for Alternative Investment Management Firms Proposed by the Center for Positive Impact." This introduced possible directions for alternative investment managers to create social value beyond simple financial investment, in connection with local communities, the environment, and future generations. In particular, it highlighted the expansion potential of social responsibility in the alternative investment industry through core work-based talent donation, nurturing young professionals, and fostering sustainable cities and spaces, leading to active discussion with students.
Since launching the Social Contribution Promotion Group last April, Marston Investment Management has steadily expanded special lectures and forums in collaboration with major university societies and youth groups at schools such as Korea University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
