Craft Beer, Live Performances, and Food at Hwarangdae Railroad Park
Low-Carbon Operations and Public Happiness Bus to Be Provided
Nowon District of Seoul (District Mayor Suh Joonoh) will hold the ‘2026 Nowon Craft Beer Festival’ over two days, September 12 and 13, at the Hwarangdae Railroad Park area. The festival will run daily from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Marking its fourth year in 2026, the Nowon Craft Beer Festival will feature 34 breweries from across the country, presenting more than 200 types of craft beer. Local Nowon-based brewery 'Broyhaus Vanheim' won gold and bronze medals at IBC 2024, while the 'Nowon Craft Beer Cooperative' will showcase beers such as 'Suraksan Gold Ale' and 'Bulan Mountain IPA', inspired by Suraksan and Bulamsan mountains.
The festival venue will be divided into Beer Square, Camp Beer Square, Eco Square, and Music Square to accommodate a variety of visitor preferences. At Beer Square, located near the Nowon District Train Village, 24 breweries, local traditional markets, and alleyway stores will participate in food booths. Camp Beer Square will feature 10 breweries, plus a large shelter, camping tents, and family and children’s experience programs.
Eco Square, located in the Nowon Light Garden area, will host local breweries, small business owners, and youth marketplaces offering local desserts, handcrafted goods, and an art market by young artists. ‘Beer Docent’ sessions will be run by professional guides introducing styles and the brewing process of craft beer, along with the eco-friendly ‘Sky Water Beer’ experience program.
Live performances will also take place. On September 12, Kassy and Mad Clown will perform, while Crying Nut will take the stage on September 13. Concerts by both domestic and international musicians are also scheduled as part of the 2026 Seoul Music Week. All performances are free, and no advance reservation is required.
To reduce environmental impact, Nowon District will provide PLA cups made from corn starch and sugarcane materials, and install dedicated recycling bins throughout the festival grounds. There will also be a tasting event for visitors who bring their own tumblers.
For visitor convenience, the ‘Public Happiness Bus’ will operate between Exit 5 of Hwarangdae Station on Subway Line 6 and the park entrance near the Hwarang Statue. Two buses will circulate at approximately 20-minute intervals.
More than 200 personnel will be mobilized per day for safety management. Professional security staff, emergency medical personnel, and model drivers will be stationed onsite, and cooling fog, parasols, camping tents, and heat shelters will be available. In case of rain, shelters and raincoats will be provided as part of a weather contingency plan.
Last year, about 67,000 visitors attended the festival over three days. The high participation rate among people in their 20s and 30s, as well as visitors from outside the district, has made the festival a signature event, attracting not only local residents but also visitors from other areas.
