Global Financial Leaders to Gather in Jeonju, Jeonbuk... National Pension Service to Host 'JIFIC 2026'
Asset management company executives and financial regulatory officials from around the world will gather in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do on September 3.
The National Pension Service announced on August 25 that it will host the '2026 Jeonbuk International Financial Conference (JIFIC)' at its Fund Management Headquarters in the Jeonju Innovation City.
JIFIC will serve as the core session of the 7th GENIE Forum, which is jointly organized by the National Pension Service, Jeollabuk-do Provincial Government, Jeonju City, and KB Financial Group. GENIE stands for 'Global Emerging Network In Economy,' and according to the organizers, it signifies the creation of a new network to lead the world economy. This year marks the first time that both the GENIE Forum and JIFIC will be held at the Fund Management Headquarters.
The conference will center on the theme of 'Asset Management Strategies in the Era of Geopolitical Inflation,' with discussions focusing on how to manage assets amid uncertainty.
The keynote address will be delivered by Chris Hogbin, CEO of Lazard Asset Management. This will be followed by a special lecture from Camille Blackburn, Head of Asia Pacific at the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
The panel discussion will feature five participants: ▲Yoon Seokmo, Head of Research at Samsung Securities; ▲Andy Burden, Head of Asia Pacific Investments at Capital Group; ▲Andrew Sharpe-Paul, Head of Asia Pacific Solutions at Wellington Management; ▲Kim Seungbeom, Head of Asset Allocation at Mirae Asset Global Investments; and ▲Park Jonghak, CEO of Baring Asset Management.
The GENIE Forum will be held over two days, from 10:30 a.m. on September 3 to 6:00 p.m. on September 4. In addition to JIFIC, financial and economic sessions such as GENIE TalkTalk and Fintech Startup Biz Meetup will also take place.
There is no registration fee. Participants can register in advance by scanning the QR code on the official poster or visiting the GENIE Forum website (genieforum.net).
Kim Sungjoo, Chairman of the National Pension Service, said, "We hope that, amid geopolitical uncertainty, this will be an opportunity to seek new investment strategies and for Jeonbuk, together with the National Pension Service, to emerge as a global hub for asset management."
