Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon both criticized Jang Dong-hyuk and the leadership of the People Power Party at the National Assembly on the 25th, speaking with a unified voice.
After attending the Future Innovation Forum seminar held at the National Assembly Members’ Office Building on this day, Mayor Oh met with reporters and addressed the party leadership’s move to re-elect party chapter heads through a vote among party members. He said, "The introduction of a competitive system helps enhance competitiveness," but also noted, "Everything must follow a proper order and timing."
Mayor Oh explained, "Currently, public support is plummeting due to the Lee Jae-myung administration’s real estate problems," and emphasized, "At a time like this, the party needs to focus all of its efforts on criticizing these issues and channeling its energy into criticism and unity through inclusive politics."
Regarding the Central Ethics Committee’s imposition of severe disciplinary actions against lawmakers Cho Kyung-tae, Kwon Young-jin, Seo Beom-soo, and Jin Jong-oh, he remarked, "Ethics committee politics is the lowest form of politics," and added, "I hope the party will return to its original role as an opposition party, holding back the runaway administration through dialogue and unity."
Lawmaker Han, who also attended the seminar, similarly addressed the issue of re-electing all party chapter heads when speaking with reporters, saying, "What matters is the intention," and argued, "Organizations maintained with the people’s hard-earned tax money should not go down the path of being privatized for personal interests. That is not the path supporters and the people want."
