KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 25th that on the 24th it invited six Cambodian children with heart disease to Korea to receive free surgeries and supported their recovery.

View original imageOn the previous day, Hwanju Lee, CEO of KB Kookmin Bank, visited Sejong Hospital in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, where he met with Chanjin Lee, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service, Byun Kim, Commander of the Salvation Army, Jiah Shin, the national figure skating athlete sponsored by KB Financial Group, and the children recovering after their surgeries.
Since 2012, KB Kookmin Bank has been conducting the 'Support Project for Cambodian Children with Heart Disease' as part of its corporate social responsibility activities, in partnership with the Financial Supervisory Service and the Salvation Army. So far, the bank has supported a total of 113 children.
In 2014, KB Kookmin Bank established the KB Kookmin Bank Hebron Heart Center locally in Cambodia, and in 2023, signed a business agreement with Samsung Medical Center to begin providing medical support for Indonesian children with heart disease.
In particular, this year, marking the 15th anniversary of the project, the bank released a video introducing the growth journeys of children who previously received surgical support.
