HYBE’s New Girl Group TUIDE Debuts: “We Really Want to Win the Rookie Award”
ABD's First Group, Entire Album Produced by GroovyRoom
Seven-Member Multinational Team... All Teenage Members
HYBE has unveiled its new girl group, TUIDE. They are the first team launched by the newly established label ABD, with all five tracks on their debut album produced by hitmaker GroovyRoom. TUIDE is taking on a new musical challenge with "Soultronic," a blend of hip-hop, R&B, and house, setting them apart from other HYBE groups.
On August 24 in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, TUIDE held their debut showcase and presented their first mini album, "Tune & Play," including the title track "SUN KISS." The music will be released at 6 p.m. on the same day. Hani expressed, "I am happy to finally debut, which has been my dream. We will deliver refreshing performances to delight both the eyes and ears of the public." Seohi shared her thoughts as well, saying, "I'm both nervous and excited at the thought of showing ourselves to everyone."
TUIDE is a multinational girl group composed of seven members: Seohi, Seoyeon, Elena, Jia, Saki, Se-A, and Hani. All members are teenagers, born between 2006 and 2011, and come from a variety of countries, including Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan. This is HYBE’s first girl group in two years since the debut of ILLIT in 2024.
ABD is a new girl group label established by HYBE Music Group, named after the initials of "A Bold Dream." Master Professional Han Sungsoo, who previously led the production of Seventeen, After School, IZ*ONE, and Tours, oversees the overall production of TUIDE. The team name TUIDE derives from "Tune the tide," indicating the group's goal of harmonizing different personalities and voices into one unified musical sound.
The debut album includes five tracks: "SUN KISS," "ABD," "Echo," "Flip-Flop Girl," and "GRLS." Focused on "Soultronic," which merges the textures of soul with electronic sounds, the album navigates R&B, house, and UK garage. Instead of working with different production teams for each track, one production team handled the entire album, resulting in a consistent sound throughout.
The title track "SUN KISS" contrasts powerful beats with relaxed melodies. Centered on the repetitive "Ba-da ba-ba-ba" hook, the lyrics encourage listeners to trust their own voices and senses, focusing on their inner rhythm and emotions. The choreography emphasizes unique movements for each member and changing formations, rather than a synchronized group dance by all seven members.
Before their official debut, TUIDE first introduced the track "GRLS," and at the preview event, they performed the entire album live. The "Meet my GRLS, TUIDE" video entered Spotify's "Global Music Video" chart in the top 10 for two consecutive weeks and also ranked high on YouTube’s trending music charts in Korea.
