Dentis Accelerates Southeast Asia Push, Expands Implant Market with Vietnam and Thailand Subsidiaries
Dentis, a dental and medical solutions company, is accelerating its expansion into the Southeast Asian market, focusing on its local subsidiaries in Vietnam and Thailand. Alongside expanding product supply, the company is strengthening academic and educational programs for local healthcare professionals, going beyond simple exports to build a network of local clinical partnerships.
Dentis announced on the 24th that it has recently held a series of online and offline events for local dental professionals in Vietnam and Thailand. The company’s strategy is to position Southeast Asia as a key growth hub for its global business, aiming to bolster both product and brand recognition simultaneously.
In Vietnam, Dentis conducted a live webinar on August 13 under the theme “Immediate Implantation Including AXEL Application.” Jaeyoon Kim, head dentist at Yeonsu Seoul Dental Clinic, served as a presenter, sharing clinical cases utilizing the premium implant AXEL. Organized in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh Central Hospital and featuring simultaneous interpretation, the event attracted approximately 200 concurrent attendees, despite requiring a registration fee.
The Vietnam business is expanding its presence, centered on the local subsidiary. The Vietnamese entity, established last year, has entered a full-scale business expansion phase this year, and the company notes that local sales growth is becoming increasingly evident.
Particularly noteworthy is the completion of Vietnam’s regulatory approval for the premium implant AXEL this past June, laying the foundation for Dentis to supply high-value-added implants along with its existing dental equipment and solutions. Market attention is focused on whether this expanded product portfolio will translate into increased local sales and improved profitability.
The company is also putting significant effort into building its academic network. Last August, Dentis held a seminar at Hai Phong Medical University in Vietnam, expanding its connections with local medical professionals by attracting about 450 dentists. This year, the company plans to reinforce professional training centered around AXEL and host an extensive global symposium.
On December 2 and 4, Dentis will hold the “DENTIS Meeting & AXEL Launch Symposium” in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, respectively. The plan is to invite around 300 dental professionals from several countries, including Vietnam, India, and the United States. Notably, the event in Ho Chi Minh City will provide educational and CME (continuing medical education) credits for local clinicians by securing accreditation from relevant authorities.
Meanwhile, Dentis is also making headway in the Thai market. On August 8, the company held a “DENTIS MEETING” in Bangkok, introducing its key products to about 100 local dentists. The event showcased a comprehensive range of solutions, from implants like AXEL and SQ implants to SQUVA, OVIS, and the LUVIS Chair, covering biomaterials and dental equipment.
According to the company, its Thailand subsidiary, established last year, is serving as a base for strengthening local brand recognition and customer connections, while also laying the groundwork to expand product supply through a robust sales infrastructure.
Southeast Asia’s growing dental market is reinforcing Dentis’s localization strategy. In particular, the Vietnamese dental market is expected to grow from approximately $4.21 billion in 2024 at a compound annual growth rate of 4.75%, reaching about $5.5 billion by 2030.
Dentis aims to increase its market dominance by combining local subsidiaries, professional medical education, and clinical data with its academic network, rather than simply selling products in these fast-growing markets. If the proportion of high-value-added products, centered on the premium AXEL, is increased, qualitative growth of the Southeast Asian business is also expected.
