DB Insurance’s “Pedestrian Accident Lawyer Consultation Rider” Marks One Year, Surpasses 800,000 Cumulative Policies
Joint Development with Attorney Han Mooncheol from the Planning Stage
Joint Analysis of 277 Real Accident Cases
37 Cases Initially Attributed to Driver Fault Recognized as "No Fault and Exempted"
DB Insurance announced on August 24 that it has marked the first anniversary of the launch of the "Pedestrian Accident Lawyer Consultation Cost Support Special Rider," jointly developed with Han Mooncheol, a traffic accident law expert.
This special rider was collaboratively developed from the planning stage by Attorney Han Mooncheol and DB Insurance, with the aim of providing legal support to drivers in accidents involving pedestrians, bicycles, or electric kickboards so that they do not unfairly bear fault liability.
What sets this rider apart is its integration of Attorney Han Mooncheol’s expertise in traffic accident law, the real accident video analysis capabilities of Han Mooncheol TV, and DB Insurance’s claims experience—not only offering legal consultation, but also linking the analysis of real-life accident cases to the compensation process. Since the launch date, a total of 277 accident cases have been analyzed and coordinated jointly by DB Insurance and Han Mooncheol TV.
By thoroughly reviewing black box footage, speeds at the time of the accident, visibility, road conditions, and the movements immediately before the incident—alongside joint analysis of the relevant laws and determining fault—they achieved the recognition of "no driver fault and exemption from personal and property liability for the insured vehicle" in 37 cases that were originally likely to be classified as the policyholder’s fault.
Thanks to strong customer response to the purpose of this product, more than 70,000 new policies have been added every month since its launch, with the cumulative number of subscribers surpassing 820,000.

Attorney Han Mooncheol stated, "Even if traffic accidents appear similar on the surface, the extent of legal liability can differ significantly depending on the specific circumstances. By closely analyzing real accident footage with DB Insurance and thoroughly reviewing the legal aspects, we are establishing precedents where drivers are protected from unfair fault liability."
