Guro-gu Meal Support Center Wins Excellence Award from Food and Drug Safety Ministry for "Diagrammed Recipe Book"
Illustrated Recipes Designed for Senior Chefs
Selected Among 229 Centers
On August 23, the district office of Guro-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jang Inhong) announced that the Guro-gu Children's and Social Welfare Meal Management Support Center had received the Excellence Award at the 8th Meal Management Support Work Innovation Best Practice Competition hosted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
The award-winning entry was the "Diagrammed Recipe Book for Senior Chefs." This book uses illustrations and diagrams to show ingredients and cooking steps, allowing chefs to easily grasp the overall cooking process at a glance. By visualizing essential information—rather than relying on text-heavy recipes—the book was highly praised for making it more convenient for chefs to use on site.
A total of 91 entries from 229 Children's and Social Welfare Meal Management Support Centers nationwide participated in the competition, and the Guro-gu Center's Diagrammed Recipe Book was selected as one of the outstanding cases.
The Guro-gu Center provides services such as hygiene and safety management of meal facilities, support with meal planning and recipes, nutritional management, and dietary education to small-scale children's and social welfare institutions.
