After SK hynix announced a 40 trillion won share buyback plan and continued its rally for the second consecutive day, attention has turned to actress Jeon Wonju, who revealed that she has never sold a single share of SK hynix stock that she purchased in the 20,000 won range in the past.
On August 20, Jeon Wonju appeared on KBS 1TV’s "Docu Insight – Semiconductor Money, The Trajectory of Money" and shared her experience investing in SK hynix. Jeon commented, "Many people ask me how to make money," adding, "It is rewarding to share such advice with young people these days."
She went on to say, "Take one step at a time. I advise people not to look for shortcuts like taking the elevator," and added, "The SK hynix shares I bought back then are still with me." Explaining why she hasn’t sold her stocks, she said, "I’m just waiting. Until they go up even more."
Jeon revealed that she has held on to all shares she purchased at around 10,000 to 20,000 won per share in 2011, before SK Group acquired Hynix. Compared to her purchase price, her estimated return is about 7,000% to 9,000%. However, she did not disclose the exact price or the number of shares she bought.
