KOSPI Rebounds Above 6,900... KOSDAQ Plummets 4.6%

The KOSPI closed at 6,912.95, up 60.37 points (0.88%) from the previous session.
Individuals and foreign investors recorded net sales of 1.1662 trillion won and 170.7 billion won, respectively. Institutional investors posted net purchases of 248.7 billion won.
By sector, insurance (6.55%), telecommunications (3.38%), and distribution (2.72%) stocks rose, while medical·precision instruments (-5.42%), construction (-5.36%), and metals (-4.05%) declined.
Among major stocks by market capitalization, Samsung Electronics (3.87%), SK hynix (2.31%), and Samsung Electronics (preferred shares, 8.26%) advanced, whereas Samsung Electro-Mechanics (-5.73%) and Hyundai Motor Company (-0.60%) fell.
The KOSDAQ finished at 801.94, down 38.95 points (4.63%) from the previous session. The KOSDAQ saw a sharp decline early in the session, temporarily triggering the program selling sidecar mechanism.
Individuals recorded net purchases of 623.5 billion won. Foreign investors and institutional investors posted net sales of 287.4 billion won and 346.4 billion won, respectively.
By sector, general services (-5.94%), electrical·electronics (-5.61%), finance (-5.08%), medical·precision instruments (-5.00%), and manufacturing (-4.77%) declined.
