The National New Drug Development Foundation announced on August 21 that Stand Up Therapeutics and Ticaros have been selected as "IP-Value Small Giant Companies" through the Drug Value Assessment–IP Guarantee Linkage Support Project, which is being promoted in partnership with the Korea Technology Finance Corporation.
The Korea Technology Finance Corporation selects "IP-Value Small Giant Companies" based on high-level technology value assessments that identify companies with outstanding intellectual property (IP). The previously selected companies were Kimcell & Gene, Innovo Therapeutics, ProN Therapeutics, and Qurogen.
Companies participating in the linkage support project may receive guarantee support of up to 4 billion won, based on the results of the drug value assessment. Additional follow-up support is available according to each company’s growth stage, such as recommendations for guarantee-linked investments and pre-assessment for technology special listing.
The Foundation plans to expand its linkage support with the Korea Technology Finance Corporation in order to ensure that drug value assessment results are effectively connected to fundraising, attracting investment, and technology special listings, thus facilitating real business commercialization.
