Sell-Side Sidecar Triggered as KOSDAQ Plunges
On August 21, KOSDAQ plunged sharply, triggering a temporary program sell order suspension (sell-side sidecar).
According to the Korea Exchange, starting from 10:05:05 a.m. on the same day, the effectiveness of program sell orders on the KOSDAQ market was suspended for five minutes.
At the time the sidecar was triggered, the KOSDAQ150 futures price had dropped by 89.60 points (6.06%) from the previous session's closing, standing at 1,387.40, while the KOSDAQ150 spot index fell by 80.71 points (5.48%) to 1,391.11.

As of 10:15 a.m., the KOSDAQ was down 39.60 points (4.71%) from the previous session to 801.29, while the KOSPI fell 7.22 points (0.11%) to 6,845.36.
