Appearing at his first official event since taking office, CEO Lee said, "'Dokkaebi's World' captures the essence of MMORPGs with a modern sensibility," adding, "With Korean authenticity and an original worldview, it is set to become a globally competitive IP."
'Dokkaebi's World' is a mobile and PC cross-platform MMORPG based on the web novel IP 'Myeolgwi Sudojeon'. Its main differentiator lies in its hybrid visuals, combining 2D pixel characters with 3D backgrounds.
Seongjun Park, Producer at Supercat, explained, "Even the pixel characters themselves implement 3D lighting and shadows. Elements from traditional folklore—such as starred roof tiles and castles in the backgrounds, as well as mythical creatures like bulgasari—are vividly realized with 2.5D graphics." He added, "The game's story takes place 300 years prior to the original narrative, and we have collaborated with the original author from the early development stage to expand the universe."
The combat system features deck-building, enabling players to break away from fixed classes and create their own combat style by combining different skills. Users can freely combine 12 skill types, totaling around 90 different skills, and equipping three or more skills of the same type unlocks an ultimate ability.
Additionally, field hunting grounds and Player Killing (PK) content within the server are separated, allowing users to participate in PvP in dedicated spaces and arenas only when they choose. PvE zones are designed as PK-free spaces, enabling players to focus solely on the story and progression. Progression is based on cooperative, clan-centered play.
Sumin Jang, Director at Supercat, said, "Players can customize their skill sets to suit their situation or the tactics required for specific content, offering freedom and individuality. The development team is preparing a lot to ensure users continue to enjoy diverse experiences and differentiated fun after the game's launch."
The game also introduces 'Myorong', an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant that offers users personalized information. 'Myorong' analyzes user activity data, market prices, rankings, and more to suggest growth paths and investment priorities. It also summarizes each day's hunting, earnings, and progression, helping users maximize their efficiency.

The plan is to offer memberships and passes through 'Yeongseok', a premium currency, and to sell costumes and mounts as standalone items. 'Yeopjeon', a growth resource, will be used directly for equipment enhancement and character development.
Myungsoo Cha, Head of Business at Kakao Games, said, "When using the in-game marketplace, users can trade with each other using resources earned within the game, not premium currency. The auxiliary currency 'Geumjeon' is also obtainable primarily through gameplay. Since the in-game economy revolves around these resources, we believe this offers a differentiated approach by reducing the burden of in-game spending."
