"Robots as Apartment Security Guards"... LG CNS Introduces Security Robots to Tower Palace
Security Robot Technology Verification Underway, Operational Deployment Planned for Q4
Robot Training and Operation Powered by RX Platform "PhysicalWorks"
LG CNS is set to commercialize Physical AI by deploying quadrupedal security robots in an actual residential environment.
On the 20th, LG CNS announced that it has signed a business agreement with Tower PMC, a premium residential facility management company, to build a security robot solution service.
Over the next two months, the two companies will conduct a technology verification to introduce security robots into the Tower Palace complex in Gangnam, Seoul, with the goal of putting them into operation within the fourth quarter.
LG CNS’s robot transformation (RX) platform, PhysicalWorks, will be used for the robot’s onsite data training and operation. The robot will learn onsite data including the layout and travel paths within the Tower Palace complex, as well as abnormal situations such as falls or fires, in order to perform security work in the actual residential environment. Based on the data it has learned, the robot will autonomously patrol common areas and underground parking lots, sending alerts to the control room if it detects any unusual situation.
LG CNS plans to continuously enhance the robot's functions and performance while also building an autonomous collaboration system linked with service robots. For example, the security robot will be able to request cleanup from a cleaning robot upon discovering trash in the complex, thereby automating facility management tasks through collaboration among heterogeneous robots.
