'Earnings Surprise' Jungwon Ensys, Chairman Kim Taegwon Continues Open Market Purchases... Shows Commitment to Enhancing Corporate Value
Jungwon Ensys (045510) has significantly improved its first-half performance, driven by securing contracts for the national artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure project and expanding sales of AI hardware. As performance improvement gains momentum, Chairman of the Board Kim Taegwon has demonstrated his commitment to enhancing corporate value by purchasing more than 200,000 shares of the company on the open market within a month.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service’s electronic disclosure system on August 19, Chairman Kim recently purchased 47,400 shares of Jungwon Ensys on the open market. This follows his earlier acquisition of 155,475 shares, further increasing his stake in the company.
In total, Chairman Kim has acquired 202,875 shares of Jungwon Ensys on the open market over the past month. This direct share purchase is interpreted as a clear signal of his confidence in the company’s business growth and the expansion of its AI infrastructure division.
Jungwon Ensys has seen a steep improvement in performance. For the first half of this year, consolidated sales reached 133.6 billion won, up 58.7% compared to the same period last year. Operating profit surged 775%, from 360 million won in the first half of last year to 3.15 billion won this year.
Not only profitability but also earnings per share increased significantly. First-half earnings per share reached 59 won, almost triple last year’s 21 won for the same period.
The main drivers of this improved performance are cited as the company’s successful bid for the national AI infrastructure project and the expansion of related hardware sales. As the AI infrastructure construction segment began to be fully reflected in revenue, the company’s overall scale grew and operating profit increased sharply.
Building on its accumulated expertise in IT infrastructure, Jungwon Ensys is expanding its business domain into AI infrastructure. As AI-related investment grows, demand for hardware such as servers and storage is also rising, and the company’s strategy is to secure additional business opportunities in related markets.
In particular, with continued investment in national AI infrastructure, Jungwon Ensys plans to strengthen its market presence by combining its existing IT infrastructure business with its AI hardware supply capabilities.
Chairman Kim’s successive purchases of company shares are also seen as closely related to this growth strategy. When the largest shareholder or management team buys company shares on the open market, it not only demonstrates a commitment to responsible management, but also signals their confidence in future performance and corporate value to the market.
A representative from Jungwon Ensys explained that the company is strengthening its server and storage business, leveraging its competitiveness in the existing IT infrastructure segment to respond to the expanding AI infrastructure market.
