82 Companies to Join Joint Financial Job Fair; Event Expands to Twice a Year Starting Next Year
Largest Participation Ever
On-site Interview Program to Be Offered
The "2026 Joint Financial Job Fair," which offers employment opportunities to young people through the participation of 82 financial institutions—including banks, securities firms, insurance companies, financial public enterprises, and financial industry associations—will be held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul for two days starting August 19. Beginning next year, the financial sector plans to expand the joint job fair from once a year to twice a year and, to support young people living in regions outside the capital area, one of the two annual events will be held in a non-metropolitan area.
The Financial Services Commission announced on August 19 that this year's joint financial job fair will see the largest ever participation, with 82 companies taking part.
Lee Eogwon, Chair of the Financial Services Commission, stated, "Recently, the employment environment faced by young people has become increasingly challenging, as the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) and the growing preference for experienced hires by companies have raised the barriers to entry for young job seekers in the financial sector." He continued, "In order to drive innovation and enhance value across the financial industry, I hope that the financial sector will actively recruit and nurture talent equipped for the AI era." He added, "Taking into account the social responsibilities of the financial sector, please make efforts to actively expand quality job opportunities for young people and support them with internship experiences and various career exploration programs."
The job fair will provide young people preparing for employment in the financial sector with in-depth recruitment information and a variety of on-site programs, including interviews, counseling, conferences, as well as career and educational experiences. The on-site interview program, which grants practical benefits—such as exemptions from document screening in future public recruitment—for outstanding candidates, will be extended not only to domestic banks but also to securities firms and domestic branches of foreign banks (such as Korea Investment & Securities and the Seoul branch of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China). Mock interviews and customized career counseling will be available both online and offline. Detailed information can be found on the official Joint Financial Job Fair website.
