[Click e-Stock] "Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Truly a Top-tier Blue-Chip ... Target Price Raised"
Hanwha Investment & Securities has raised its target price for Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance to 685,000 won. However, given the limited upside compared to the current share price, the investment rating has been downgraded to 'Hold'.
According to Hanwha Investment & Securities on August 19, the new target price of 685,000 won is more than 5% higher than the previous target price of 650,000 won.
Doha Kim, an analyst at Hanwha Investment & Securities, stated, "Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance has demonstrated that its fundamentals are the strongest among listed insurers, thanks to improvements in its own loss ratio, a low CSM adjustment rate, abundant dividend resources, and low volatility in its capital ratio." He evaluated the company as a "top-tier blue-chip stock in both name and reality."
The consolidated controlling net profit for the second quarter, disclosed earlier, totaled 737.7 billion won, marking a 16% increase year-on-year. Both insurance and investment segments performed solidly, surpassing market consensus by 13%.
Analyst Kim commented, "A valuation premium over peers is justified in the current range." However, he noted that Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance showed low sensitivity to external variables expected for the sector, such as the introduction of managed care wages, potential easing of surrender reserves, and large-scale dividends from affiliates.
