The city quickly removed water-soaked boxes and various flood debris accumulated around local businesses, restored the surrounding environment, and supported onsite recovery to help affected shop owners resume normal business operations as quickly as possible.
In particular, staff from the Manho-dong Administrative Welfare Center were also dispatched to the affected area, assisting with the removal of flood debris and environmental cleanup as part of efforts to help residents and merchants return to their daily activities.
Efforts to prevent infectious diseases and sanitation issues that could arise following the heavy rainfall have also been intensified.
The Mokpo City Public Health Center is conducting special disinfection operations focused on the flooded areas and across the entire city, with an emphasis on preventing potential post-flood infectious diseases and managing residents' health.
The Department of Resource Circulation quickly removed various types of trash generated along roadsides and other locations due to the heavy rain and took steps to restore the local environment, while administrative welfare centers in each district are independently conducting weeding and environmental maintenance to help normalize living conditions.
Inspection and repair of road facilities are also being carried out simultaneously.
The Construction Division is inspecting roads and facilities that sustained damage from the heavy rain and undertaking emergency maintenance, continuing efforts to prevent traffic disruptions and additional safety accidents.
The city is not limiting its recovery activities to mere waste removal and environmental cleanup but will continue to monitor the situation in each department’s area of responsibility, aiming to help citizens return to normal life as soon as possible.
Ongoing site inspections and damage assessments will be carried out in affected areas, and the city plans to quickly deploy additional personnel and equipment to locations in need of recovery in order to minimize inconvenience for residents.
