Geochang Agricultural Products Enter LA Market with $139,000 Export Shipment
Exporting 37,100 Products Across Six Categories... Pushing to Expand U.S. Market Reach
Geochang Sets Stage for Diversification of Agricultural Exports and Expansion of Overseas Distribution Networks
Geochang County in Gyeongsangnam-do is working to expand overseas sales channels by pushing for the entry of locally produced and processed agricultural products into the U.S. market.
On August 18, the county held an excellent agricultural products export loading ceremony to LA, USA, at the Northwest Gyeongnam Regional Mountain Distribution Center (APC), with over 20 attendees including County Governor Lee Hongki, Kim Hyunju, President of the Geochang Agricultural Food Export Promotion Association, members, and county officials.
This export shipment to Los Angeles, USA consists of six categories of agricultural products, totaling 37,100 individual products, with an export value of 139,000 dollars.

Local import and distribution in the United States will be handled by K-Healing. K-Healing reportedly deals with K-food and wellness-related products, conducting both online and offline sales, managing online malls, and implementing marketing activities locally in the U.S.
Through this export, Geochang County aims to go beyond the existing Korean-American consumer base and create an opportunity to introduce local agricultural foods to American consumers.
In particular, with the growing interest in health foods and K-food in the U.S. market, the county plans to verify the distribution potential of local agricultural products. It also intends to expand both the types of products exported and the overseas markets targeted in the future.
With this export to LA, Geochang County plans to diversify agricultural export markets and strengthen support for the expansion of overseas sales channels. The county aims to increase the variety of export items through partnerships with exporters and to promote and pioneer markets by connecting with local distribution networks.
This round of exports is also linked to Geochang County’s agricultural policies, which, as part of the ninth popularly elected administration, aim to expand distribution and sales in the agricultural sector.
Geochang County is advancing agricultural policies that allow farms to focus on production by having the administration actively support distribution and market expansion, making the diversification of domestic and overseas outlets for local agricultural products a key task.
Lee Hongki, the Governor of Geochang County, stated, "With this export to LA, USA, we have created an opportunity to introduce agricultural foods produced and processed in Geochang to overseas consumers. Going forward, we will work with exporters to expand the number of export items and target countries, further broadening global markets for local agricultural foods."
He added, "We will continue to strengthen support for distribution and sales so that agricultural foods produced by local farmers can secure stable sales channels."
The export of Geochang agricultural foods to LA, USA could serve as a catalyst for expanding overseas sales channels for local agricultural products. However, it is important that this does not remain a one-off shipment; sustained exports based on local consumer response and sales performance will be key.
