Silla University, led by President Nam Sik Hur, announced on August 18 that it held the "2026 Hwarang Road Challenge (National Land Grand March)" around Jeju Island from August 3 to 7, 2026.

During the five-day event, the participants encouraged and supported one another through long walks and group activities. By stepping out of their everyday routines and the campus environment to experience Jeju’s nature and pursue a shared goal, they embraced both challenge and cooperation.
Doh Hyunseung, the chairman of the Student Welfare Committee, remarked, "It was more meaningful because it went beyond a simple march; by plogging together, we could truly appreciate the beauty and value of Jeju. Walking side by side with the students, supporting and cooperating with one another, also reminded us of the importance of community."
