By breaking the traditional notion that artworks can be viewed only in indoor galleries, the exhibition broadens the horizon of the museum into the outdoor pathways of the resort, frequented by both residents and domestic and international tourists.
The exhibition title, "Jeju Created by the Wind," takes as its core motif the wind—one of Jeju’s symbolic Samda (three abundances)—along with Jeju's four distinct seasons, which change beautifully with the passage of time.
Valuable artistic assets accumulated by the museum are reborn as digital media art, bringing together the island’s magnificent nature, rich history, and artistic sensibility.
Visitors can intuitively enjoy the scenery shaped by Jeju’s wind and changing seasons as they follow the natural outdoor pathways of the resort. The synergy of changing outdoor environments—shaped by varying natural light and illumination between day and night—and the vibrant media art offers an even deeper sense of immersion.
This exhibition is open to everyone free of charge through the large screen at Shinhwa Terrace within Jeju Shinhwa World.
Screenings are held once every hour from 12 PM to 5 PM daily, with an additional final screening at 11 PM for nighttime visitors.
