Through this initiative, the company contributed to improving the living conditions of the descendants of independence patriots.
The 815 Run is a charity marathon campaign designed to commemorate Liberation Day and express gratitude to those who contributed to Korean independence. Since 2020, singer Sean has served as an ambassador for this flagship Liberation Day event. All registration fees and sponsorship funds collected through the campaign are allocated to enhancing the living environments of the descendants of independence patriots who are currently in housing blind spots.
Participants can either run the 8.15km course at the offline event held at Peace Plaza in Sangam World Cup Park, Seoul, on Liberation Day, or join virtually online. Virtual runners can choose to run 3.1km, 4.5km, or 8.15km at their preferred time and location by August 23 and then certify completion.
Sampyo Group contributed a total of 15.6 million won to the campaign, including 8.15 million won in sponsorship—symbolizing the meaning of August 15—and 7.45 million won in marathon registration fees from 130 employees. Of these participants, 30 ran the full 8.15km course at the offline event on August 15, while about 100 are expected to certify virtual completion within the campaign period, which began on the 1st of the month.
