Tumblbug Surpasses 500 Billion KRW in Cumulative Funding and 10 Million Total Contributions
Board Games and Goods Lead Growth
Backpacker announced on the 18th that the cumulative funding amount on its crowdfunding platform Tumblbug surpassed 500 billion KRW as of June 29.
It has been six years since the cumulative total exceeded 100 billion KRW in 2020. To date, Tumblbug has handled about 80,000 projects, and the total number of contributions has surpassed 10 million.
From 2023 to 2025, approximately 950,000 people participated as sponsors in Tumblbug funding. By gender, women accounted for 69.8% and men for 30.2%. By age group, those in their 20s were the largest group at 46.7%, followed by those in their 30s at 23.9%, teenagers at 13.9%, those in their 40s at 9.8%, and those in their 50s at 5.8%.

View original imageThe most prominent areas of growth recently have been board games·TRPG and character·goods. Both categories have seen a steady increase in both funding and project volume, driving Tumblbug's overall growth.
The cumulative funding amount in the board game·TRPG category increased by 328%, from 2.59 billion KRW in 2023 to 11.09 billion KRW last year. Character·goods projects utilizing content intellectual property (IP) have also achieved high funding amounts. For example, the project "Beyond Dimensions: Isekai Idol Volume and Goods" reached a cumulative 8.82 billion KRW.
