Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital Marks 40th Anniversary by Covering Medical Expenses for 40 Vulnerable Patients
Identifying Patients in Medical Blind Spots Through Recommendations from Community Centers and Education Office
Utilizing Fund of Approximately 80 Million Won
Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital announced on August 18 that, in celebration of its 40th anniversary, it will provide financial support for the medical expenses of 40 underprivileged patients in the local community who are unable to afford treatment due to financial difficulties.
This initiative will be funded by approximately 80 million won in donations from individuals who have previously received treatment at Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital, as well as from external partner organizations and groups. Financial support will be provided not only to individuals benefiting from the National Basic Livelihood Security Program and those just above the poverty threshold, but also to patients in medical blind spots who have been excluded from existing public assistance programs.
Gangdong District Office will identify vulnerable individuals in need of treatment through its 19 local community centers and recommend them to the hospital. The Gangdong Songpa Office of Education will also recommend candidates. Recommended patients will undergo a review by the hospital's internal committee for final selection. Selected patients will receive support for necessary medical expenses, including outpatient services, surgical costs, and hospitalization fees at Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital.
Gangdong Sacred Heart Hospital will accept initial applications for support until the 21st and will continue the program until the funds are exhausted.
