S&K Polytech Posts 11.7 Billion Won Operating Profit in H1, Up 65% Year-on-Year
S&K Polytech's profitability improved significantly in the first half of this year.
On August 18, S&K Polytech announced that its consolidated operating profit for the first half of this year reached 11.7 billion won, a 65% increase compared to the same period last year. Net profit for the period surged by 160% to 10.3 billion won.
In the second quarter of this year, S&K Polytech reported consolidated sales of 68.4 billion won and operating profit of 4.9 billion won. Although sales declined compared to the same period last year, operating profit increased by 162%, resulting in a substantial improvement in profitability.
This performance improvement was driven by the strong results of its subsidiary, CAP. In particular, robust exports in the company's main business area of automobile wipers, as well as cost savings achieved through improved production efficiency, significantly boosted the operating margin.
In July, S&K Polytech acquired a 100% stake in Sunjin Engineering, a company specialized in parts for electric vehicles. Once the merger is completed at the end of next month, additional sales growth is expected from the fourth quarter of this year as the profitable Sunjin Engineering’s results will be reflected in the consolidated financials.
Meanwhile, in June, S&K Polytech sold an idle factory for 48 billion won as part of its efforts to improve asset efficiency. A gain of approximately 30 billion won from the sale is expected to be reflected in the third quarter's financial statements, and the funds secured will be used to strengthen growth engines and enhance business competitiveness.
