Coloray Participates in Revision of China's National Pigment Standard... Strengthening Global Competitiveness Through Technology
KOSDAQ-listed company Coloray has been recognized for its material technology by participating in the revision of China’s national standard in the pigment sector. By directly joining the standardization process, the company is also expected to contribute to the internationalization of China’s pigment testing and inspection standards.
Coloray announced that it participated in the revision of China's national standard GB/T 5211.11-2026, “General Test Methods for Pigments and Extenders—Part 11: Determination of Water-Soluble Sulfates, Chlorides, and Nitrates.” The revised standard, which was recently officially announced by the State Administration for Market Regulation of China and the Standardization Administration of China, is scheduled to take effect from February 1, 2027.
Coloray was named as one of the major foundational institutions involved in this standard enactment and revision process. Zuo Zhongbiao, Chairman of Coloray, was also included in the list of key contributors.
GB/T 5211.11-2026 is a national standard that stipulates methods for measuring the content of water-soluble sulfates, chlorides, and nitrates in pigments and extenders. The standard falls under the jurisdiction of the China National Technical Committee for Paint and Pigment Standardization, with its Subcommittee on Pigment Products and Test Methods responsible for implementation.
This revision adjusted the scope of application and technical content of the standard, particularly focusing on increasing conformity with international testing method frameworks. As a result, it is expected that the evaluation of pigment products and consistency of test results within China will be improved, while more unified technical criteria can also be applied in overseas transactions.
Coloray is a specialized effect pigment company that has researched and produced pearl pigments and nanomaterials for about 20 years. It supplies materials used in a variety of industries, including paints, cosmetics, plastics, and printing.
During this standard revision, the company participated in reviewing the standard, sample testing and verification, collecting industry feedback, and editing drafts, drawing on its accumulated technological and production-site expertise in effect pigments. Based on the experience built up through its own R&D and testing platforms, Coloray also provided input regarding potential testing issues and application conditions that could arise in real-world production environments.
The company anticipates that its participation will not only enhance the technical completeness of the national standard, but also improve its applicability in actual industrial settings. When the standard is enacted, companies in the pigment sector will be able to use more unified testing methods, which is expected to help manage product quality and ensure the reliability of test results.
Coloray plans to enhance its research and development and quality competitiveness in existing effect pigment businesses, while also advancing its R&D system through the integration of smart manufacturing and digital technologies.
