BL Pharmtech Targets Global Commerce Beyond New Drug Development... Expanding Sales via YouTube and TikTok
BL Pharmtech, a company specializing in new drug development, is set to expand its overseas sales by partnering with a global social commerce company and utilizing platforms such as YouTube and TikTok. The company aims to diversify its distribution structure, which has previously centered on TV home shopping, while also pursuing the acquisition of stable revenue-generating businesses to secure both financial stability and growth potential.
BL Pharmtech announced that its financial results for the first half of 2026 have been partially revised downward in terms of sales and operating profit compared to the first quarter. The company explained that this adjustment was due to the application of stricter accounting standards during the review process by the external auditor for the half-year period.
The company also dismissed concerns regarding the maintenance of its stock listing raised in connection with the recent financial revision. A BL Pharmtech official stated, "We are aware that some shareholders are concerned about the company being delisted if annual sales do not exceed 5 billion won. However, the company's average daily market capitalization from the beginning of this year to the present has remained around 75 billion won, significantly exceeding the 60 billion won threshold set as the exception to delisting for insufficient sales."
The official added, "Not only do we not fall short on sales, but we also do not meet the delisting criteria for low-priced stocks or insufficient market capitalization. We are making every effort to revitalize sales as quickly as possible and enhance shareholder value by expanding our online commerce segment and strengthening our global operations."
To this end, BL Pharmtech has signed a strategic business agreement with DINO Studio, a global social commerce specialist. Under this partnership, the two companies plan to sell BL Pharmtech's products through the global social media distribution channels of DINO Studio, such as YouTube and TikTok.
BL Pharmtech is especially counting on TikTok to target overseas markets. According to the company, DINO Studio has secured TikTok global distribution rights, which have been granted to only six companies in Korea. The plan is to expand the global commerce business mainly in the United States, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Key products to be offered include the women’s health diagnostic kit "Gainpad" and "Dr. Fitz," which is based on a GLP-1 activation mechanism. The "GLP-1 Promoting Probiotic for Obesity Management," scheduled to launch in the second half of the year, will also be added to the global product lineup.
In addition to expanding its commerce business, BL Pharmtech is pursuing the acquisition of companies generating stable sales and operating profit. The strategy is to secure mid- and long-term growth momentum in new drug development while strengthening its financial base by adding business units with robust cash generation capacity.
