Incheon Traditional Market Stamp Tour Runs Until November 15... Up to 80,000 Won in Coupons
On August 14, Incheon City and the Incheon Tourism Organization announced that they will operate a "Traditional Market Mobile Stamp Tour" to promote the charms of local traditional markets and revitalize the regional economy.
This program, held as part of the "Attractive First-Class Traditional Market Development Project," will take place in two stages. It involves 17 traditional markets in seven districts and counties: Ganghwa-gun, Jemulpo-gu, Michuhol-gu, Yeonsu-gu, Namdong-gu, Bupyeong-gu, and Gyeyang-gu.
The first tour will run from August 15 to September 30 at the following markets: Shinheung Market, Sinpo International Market, Seokbawi Market, Singi Market, Yonghyeon Market, Yeolwoomul Traditional Market, Ilsin Market, Guwol Market, and Incheon Moraenae Traditional Market.
The second tour, held from October 1 to November 15, will be available at Soraepogu Traditional Fish Market, Jangseungbaegi Traditional Market, Songdo Station Market, Okgyeon Traditional Market, Ganghwa Pungmul Market, Gyesan Market, Gyeyangsan Traditional Market, and Jakjeon Market.
The tour offers a total of 16 themed routes that connect traditional markets with nearby historical and cultural sites and local landmarks. For example, one course includes a visit to Shinheung Market along with Dapdong Cathedral or the Gindam Botongi House (the former managers’ residence in Shinheung-dong).
Participants are free to choose their preferred courses according to their interests and schedules. To enhance convenience for foreign tourists, an English version of the stamp tour is also provided.
By selecting a desired course on the "Incheon e-ji" app and visiting designated spots in traditional markets and surrounding tourist attractions, participants will automatically receive stamps through the location-based GPS system.
Upon completing each tour course, participants will receive an instant discount coupon worth 5,000 won through the Incheon e-ji app. Completing all 16 courses can provide individual benefits totaling up to 80,000 won. The coupons can be used at over 320 participating stores across the 17 traditional markets involved in the event.
