NPS to Recruit 30 Asset Management Professionals to Oversee 1,800 Trillion Won in Fund Assets
Entire Process to Be Conducted Under Blind Recruitment System
The National Pension Service (NPS) will publicly recruit 30 asset management professionals responsible for fund management.
On August 14, the NPS announced that it will conduct the second round of its 2026 public recruitment for asset management professionals from August 14 (Friday) to August 28 (Friday), for a total of 15 days. Applications will be accepted until 6:00 p.m. on August 28.
This recruitment marks the second public intake of asset management professionals by the NPS in 2026. A total of 30 people will be selected, including 3 Senior Portfolio Managers and 27 Portfolio Managers.
The entire recruitment process will be carried out under a blind screening system, in which applicants are not required to disclose their name, academic background, age, gender, or family information.
There are 13 categories in total: investment strategy, domestic and overseas equities and bonds, alternative investments such as real estate, infrastructure, and private venture capital, risk management, legal affairs, capital management, fund information, and auditing.
Between one and four candidates will be hired per category, and relevant experience in investment operations is required to apply. For the position of Senior Portfolio Manager, applicants must have at least 7 years of relevant experience, while Portfolio Managers must have at least 3 years of experience.
The selection process will include a document screening, background check, and interview. The document screening will take place in September, the background check in October, and interviews in November. The final list of successful candidates will also be announced in November. Those selected are expected to be appointed later in November as well.
Applications must be submitted exclusively through the NPS website; submissions via mail, in-person delivery, or email will not be accepted. Duplicate applications for different categories are not allowed. If no suitable candidate is found for a particular category, that position may not be filled.
The workplace will be the National Pension Service headquarters (Jeonju, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province), and employees will work 8 hours per day, 5 days a week.
The positions are contractual, with an initial contract period of 3 to 5 years upon hiring. Re-contracting is possible depending on work performance and other evaluations. The salary level will be determined according to the internal policies of the NPS.
Candidates eligible for national veteran and employment support programs will receive an additional score of either 5% or 10% in the document review and interview stages.
More detailed information, including job descriptions and requirements, is available in the recruitment notice on the NPS website.
