Prost, Namhae!” and is planned as an event where domestic and international visitors can participate together, utilizing the regional characteristics of the German Village and German cultural content. In particular, the focus this year is on expanding direct participation of visitors and broadening the scope of both festival spaces and programs.
First, parade participating teams will be recruited in advance to strengthen the parade program, allowing both visitors and local residents to participate. In consideration of foreign tourists, the number of English guides within the venue will also be increased.
In addition, in collaboration with Changwon University Namhae Campus, the “2026 National Creative Healing Cocktail Competition” will be held. There are plans to set up a big tent where visitors can participate in performances and programs, as well as a kids’ zone and experience spaces for families. Programs to spread the festival atmosphere to the areas surrounding the venue are also being prepared.
The Horticultural Arts Village will hold a small business cooperation festival in partnership with the Gyeongnam Small Business Association, operating youth entrepreneurship and small business booths as well as busking performances. Busking performances, photo zones, giant banners, and plant pots will also be set up around the Mulgeon Village commercial district, creating spaces connecting the festival and local businesses. There are also plans to implement eco-friendly operational measures for the festival.
For the first time, Namhae-gun will introduce reusable containers at this year's festival to reduce single-use items, and will expand parking spaces to increase visitor convenience. Through these measures, the county aims to reduce the potential environmental impact and traffic inconvenience during the festival and pursue a more pleasant operation.
During the meeting, the festival planning team shared preparation progress by program, and exchanged opinions on event operation, promotion, visitor facilities, and connections with local businesses. Namhae-gun plans to further refine its detailed operation plan and complete preparations through consultations with relevant agencies and participating organizations.
Kim Hae-gyeong, head of the Beer Festival Planning Team, said, “As the German Village Beer Festival is establishing itself as a leading tourism content of Namhae, we are also preparing this year’s event to highlight the unique characteristics of the region. Leveraging the advantages of the public-private planning team, we will strive to create a festival that can be enjoyed by both tourists and local residents.”
Meanwhile, the 14th German Village Beer Festival will be held over three days from October 9 to 11, 2026, throughout the German Village area of Namhae-gun.
On the opening day, October 9, a welcome parade is scheduled from 5 p.m., followed by a welcome ceremony at 6 p.m. Namhae-gun plans to finalize the programs and operational details and strengthen promotional activities prior to the festival in order to attract visitors and revitalize the local economy.
There is keen interest in whether this festival, based on the cultural identity of the German Village, will solidify its position as a representative local tourism festival by bringing together residents, tourists, and small business owners.
