Goryeong County to Launch "You Must Visit Daegaya!" in September
From the Jisandong Tumuli World Heritage Site to Traditional Markets and Rural Experiences
Discovering Goryeong's History and Everyday Life at Once
Goryeong County in North Gyeongsang Province will launch the tourism product "You Must Visit Daegaya!", which connects the UNESCO World Heritage Jisandong Tumuli, Daegaya history and culture, and local experiences, starting in September.
Developed by the Tourism Promotion Division of Goryeong County and the Goryeong Culture and Tourism Foundation with support from Gyeongbuk Province, this program brings together world heritage sites and local tourism resources into a single course, aiming to simultaneously extend tourists' stays and boost local consumption.

View original imageThe main itinerary begins with trekking at the Jisandong Tumuli and continues with visits to the Daegaya Museum, Royal Tombs Exhibition Hall, Daegaya Lifestyle Village, Daegaya Market, and Gaesil Village.
In Gaesil Village, participants will enjoy a village tour as well as a traditional taffy-making experience.
A key feature is the provision of Goryeong Love Gift Certificates to participants and guided visits to Daegaya Market, enabling tourists to directly support the local business district.
The program will operate a total of 12 times, with each session accommodating up to 35 participants, and is open to individuals, families, groups, and foreign tourists.
It is scheduled according to Daegaya Market days, which are on the 4th and 9th of each month, and applications can be submitted online via the QR code found on promotional materials.
Namcheol Lee, Goryeong County Governor, commented, "We hope this will be an opportunity to raise awareness of the value of the Jisandong Tumuli World Heritage site and to introduce Goryeong’s diverse tourism resources." He added, "We will create a tourism environment where visitors can stay in Goryeong to observe, experience, and consume."
