Daishin Economic Research Institute Launches "4th DERI Governance Leadership Program"
Daishin Economic Research Institute, a subsidiary of Daishin Securities, will launch the "4th DERI Governance Leadership Program."
According to Daishin Economic Research Institute on August 14, this program will focus on "The Post-Commercial Act Amendment Era: Outlook for the 2027 Regular Shareholders' Meetings and Board Decision-Making." The course will examine the changes in corporate governance that have emerged after three rounds of amendments to the Commercial Act and will provide in-depth analysis of response strategies that management and boards of directors must consider.
The main curriculum includes: changes to K-Governance following the Commercial Act amendment; corporate response strategies in light of the revised Stewardship Code; preparation for electronic shareholders' meetings; response of boards of directors to shareholder activism; and regulatory changes in the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) market. The class will also examine the proxy voting standards of institutional investors and proxy advisory firms, as well as corresponding corporate strategies.
Experts from the Korea Exchange, Korea Securities Depository, Asian Corporate Governance Association (ACGA), and the National Pension Service's Stewardship Responsibility Office will participate as speakers, sharing real cases and field experiences to explain key governance issues.
Reflecting the increasing scope of board roles and responsibilities, a separate curriculum for independent directors has also been organized. This course will cover board operation theory, major domestic and international issues, and the roles of boards expected by shareholders. Students who complete this program will receive an independent director training certificate.
