Motrex Reports Q2 Operating Profit of 18.3 Billion Won, Up 42.3% Year-on-Year
The financial performance of Motrex, a specialist in automotive electronics, has improved significantly.
On August 14, Motrex announced that it recorded consolidated sales of 186.4 billion won and operating profit of 18.3 billion won in the second quarter of this year. Sales increased by 5.5% and operating profit jumped 42.3% compared to the same period last year.
The recovery of Motrex's core automotive electronics business drove the earnings growth in the second quarter of this year. Strong sales momentum continued, with increases in sales in key overseas markets such as Mexico, Latin America, Stellantis (STLA), and Russia & CIS, as well as expanded sales of its main AV and AVN products.
Profitability also improved alongside the recovery in revenue. The rebound in both sales and profit at Motrex, as well as improved profitability at Jeonjin Construction Robotics, had a positive impact on consolidated results.
Motrex is expanding its business portfolio into the vehicle interior segment. Recently, through Motrex EFM's acquisition of Duol, the company extended its business coverage to automotive interior materials and started strengthening synergies with its existing automotive electronics operations. Motrex plans to secure mid- to long-term growth engines by expanding into integrated in-vehicle solutions that encompass both automotive electronics and interior materials.
