SK Chemicals Reports Q2 Operating Profit of 31.9 Billion Won... Sales Up 24.8%
Sales Reach 479.1 Billion Won on Standalone Basis, Marking Highest Quarterly Record
Operating Profit Hits 32.3 Billion Won on Consolidated Basis
SK Chemicals announced on the 13th that, on a separate financial statement basis, its sales in the second quarter of this year reached 479.1 billion won, with operating profit at 31.9 billion won. Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 24.8% and operating profit by 26.8%. This marks the highest quarterly sales since the 2017 spin-off that formed SK Discovery and split SK Chemicals as its business company.
The Green Chemicals business drove performance growth based on stable demand, while strong sales of key products in the Pharma business also contributed to the increases in both sales and operating profit.
On a consolidated basis, the company posted 745.1 billion won in sales and 32.3 billion won in operating profit, returning to profitability. The consolidated results include its subsidiary, SK bioscience.

SK Chemicals plans to expand sales focusing on high value-added products in the Green Chemicals business in the second half of the year, while in the pharmaceuticals sector it will work to broaden its new product pipeline and diversify therapeutic areas.
