SEMAS Launches Intelligent Informatization Committee... Full-Scale Advancement of AX Initiatives
Innovating Internal Operations Through Dialogue with AI and Data Experts
The Small Enterprise and Market Service (SEMAS) announced on the 13th that it had launched the 'Intelligent Informatization Committee' and held its first meeting at the organization’s headquarters. The Intelligent Informatization Committee was newly established to proactively respond to changes in artificial intelligence (AI), data, and digital technologies, and to comprehensively coordinate, review, and advise on medium- to long-term informatization policies and AI Transformation (AX) initiatives at the organizational level.

View original imageThe committee is comprised of around 10 academic, public, and private sector experts in AI, IT, data, and information security, as well as advisory members including non-standing board members of SEMAS and internal members such as the head of the AI Digital Division. During the first meeting, key topics of discussion included the organization’s medium- to long-term informatization plan, proposed amendments to informatization work guidelines, the enactment of AI ethics principles, and internal management plans for personal information protection.
Moving forward, the committee is expected to deliberate, coordinate, and advise on strategies for advancing informatization projects, the development, enhancement, integration, or decommissioning of key information systems that significantly impact organizational operations, as well as risk management measures arising from the adoption and utilization of AI.

SEMAS plans to establish responsible and systematic AI governance through the committee and to continuously expand AI- and data-driven support services for small businesses that reflect on-the-ground needs. Intae Yeon, Chairman of SEMAS, stated, "The newly launched Intelligent Informatization Committee will serve as a strategic decision-making body that innovates our working methods based on artificial intelligence and improves support services for small businesses."
