KB Financial Supports Small Business Owners Descended from Independence Patriots with 'Myeongpum Store' for 81st Liberation Anniversary
Customized Support for Five Shops
Applications Open Until the End of August
On August 13, KB Financial Group announced that it will be accepting applications for the second year of its patriotic social contribution project, "Myeongpum Store," in celebration of National Liberation Day.
"Myeongpum Store," short for "Store Embracing Honor," is a project that helps improve shops and living environments for small business owners who are descendants of independence patriots, assisting them in establishing a stable livelihood foundation.
KB Financial Group launched the project last year, marking the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation, in partnership with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Federation of Korean Industries, Habitat for Humanity Korea, and the Liberation Association.
This year, building on the previous results, the program will expand support beyond facility improvements to include management and financial consulting, aiming to ensure the sustainable independence of small business owners who are descendants of independence patriots.
KB Financial Group plans to newly select five small business shops for customized support, taking into consideration factors such as their relationship to independence patriots, business types, income levels, store conditions, and long-term business viability before making a final selection.
Applications can be submitted until August 31, and detailed information is available on the Habitat for Humanity Korea website.
"Myeongpum Store" was launched for the first time last year in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of liberation, supporting environmental improvements at eight shops nationwide. Tailored support was provided according to the situation of each business, including repairs to store interiors and exteriors, replacement of outdated facilities and business equipment, and improvements to residential spaces, targeting a range of industries such as art studios, blacksmith shops, and restaurants.
