“Today, We Are Basketball Players”… Korea Housing Finance Corporation Offers Children a Special Day
Inviting Over 50 Elementary Students from Gijang-gun for Hands-on Activities
Guidance from BNK Sum Players, Financial Education, and Game Viewing Opportunities Provided
Korea Housing Finance Corporation is expanding its connection with the local community by providing children in the region with opportunities to experience both sports and financial education.
On August 13, Korea Housing Finance Corporation (President Kim Kyounghwan) held the ‘2026 HF Assist with SUM’ event at the BNK Busan Bank Training Center in Gijang-gun, Busan, together with the BNK Sum Women’s Professional Basketball Team and Green Umbrella.
This event invited over 50 elementary school students from Gijang-gun, selected through Green Umbrella. A comprehensive program was created, combining sports, education, and cultural activities, so that local children could directly experience professional sports while enhancing their basic understanding of finance.
The participating children learned fundamental basketball skills such as dribbling and shooting under the guidance of professional basketball players, accompanied by employees of the Corporation. After mastering the basics, the children were divided into teams and competed in basketball matches, experiencing both competition and teamwork on the court.
Basketball was just the beginning. Various other programs were also held, including financial education tailored to the elementary school children’s level, cultural performances, and lively sports day activities.
The event was designed to help children naturally enjoy physical activity through sports and to learn basic economic concepts for daily life through financial education. By incorporating cultural and recreational activities, the program allowed children to participate in the event without any burden.
Korea Housing Finance Corporation does not plan to make this a one-day experience only.
When the professional basketball season opens this fall, the invited children will visit an actual game to watch the BNK Sum team play and receive scholarships aimed at supporting the development of local sports talent.
