This year, in response to the introduction of the “Severe Heat Wave Warning” by the Korea Meteorological Administration, the ministry distributed the “Operational Standards and Action Guidelines for Sports Events According to Heat Wave Levels (Draft),” which incorporate guidelines for behavior during severe heat wave warnings, to all sports organizations, local governments, and education offices. The “Comprehensive Sports Event Safety Management Manual,” which reflects these updates, will also be revised and distributed through the Sports Safety Foundation during August. In particular, if a “Severe Heat Wave Warning” is issued, summer student-athlete tournaments will be scheduled mainly in the morning or at night to minimize risk.
