G-Son Turns an Operating Profit in Q2 2026
G-Son, a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) convergence security, posted an operating profit in the second quarter of 2026, turning around from a loss.
On August 13, G-Son announced in its semiannual report that its consolidated revenue for the first half of this year reached 7.36 billion won, a 50.8% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, operating loss decreased by 50.0% to 1.43 billion won, narrowing the deficit.
In particular, sales in the second quarter of this year amounted to 4.9 billion won, up 82.0% from the second quarter of last year. Operating profit was 460 million won, a turnaround from an operating loss of 1.14 billion won in the second quarter of last year.
This first-half performance growth was driven by the company’s wireless backdoor hacking detection system "Alpha-H." Alpha-H is a security system that continuously detects unauthorized radio frequency (RF) signals from ultra-small wireless spy chips surreptitiously installed in IT and computer equipment, 24 hours a day, and estimates the signal source's location if any abnormal activity is detected. The heightened awareness of security threats caused by advances in generative AI contributed to this growth.
G-Son also presented its all-day illegal filming detection system "Alpha-C" as a future growth engine. Alpha-C is a system that continuously detects the risks of illegal filming in public restrooms. It can detect ultra-small and disguised illegal filming cameras installed inside toilet stalls in real time, and uses AI-based abnormal behavior recognition technology to immediately broadcast warnings if it detects an attempt to film illegally above the restroom partitions.
As of now, Alpha-C has been installed in over 130 institutions and facilities, including central government agencies, local governments, as well as organizations in the education and private sectors. Designated as an Excellent Product and Innovative Product by the Public Procurement Service, Alpha-C can be purchased by local governments through private contracts without competitive bidding. According to the Public Procurement Data Hub, from 2021 to June 30 of this year, G-Son achieved a cumulative market share of 51.3% in the public procurement market for illegal filming detection systems, ranking first overall.
