On August 13, Minsol Kim will compete in the second tournament of the second half of the season, the Mediheal-Hankook Ilbo Championship (total prize money: 1.2 billion won), held at Montvert Country Club (par 72) in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province. Having already earned three wins this season, she leads in most wins, prize money (989.63 million won), Player of the Year points (313 points), and Rookie of the Year points (1,621 points). Her record at the Mediheal-Hankook Ilbo Championship is also promising; she tied for third place at last year’s event. "Because I have good memories of this tournament, I want to do well," she said. "Right now, rather than feeling pressured about the results, I am focusing on making the shots I want."
All of the current powerhouses on the KLPGA Tour, including Gyolim Seo, Minseon Kim, and Hyunjoo Yoo, will also compete, chasing Minsol Kim. Eunsoo Jang, who clinched her first career victory in her 10th year on the regular tour at last week's Jeju Samdasoo Masters, is aiming for back-to-back wins for the second week in a row.
