Jinju City, South Gyeongsang Province, deployed 20 fire trucks for emergency water supply support to assist farmers struggling to secure agricultural water due to insufficient rainfall.
The city announced that, in connection with support for agricultural and domestic water in response to drought in South Gyeongsang Province, 20 fire trucks were dispatched to the Jinju area on the 12th following the issuance of a national fire mobilization order.
This deployment of fire trucks is designed to reduce drought damage in areas having difficulty securing agricultural water due to the recent lack of rainfall, and to provide water necessary for crop growth.

The 20 fire trucks gathered at the Munsan Indoor Gymnasium on the morning of the 12th, then checked each water supply destination and transportation route before heading to the sites to deliver agricultural water.
The water supply assistance is focused on areas at risk of drought damage or experiencing difficulties in securing agricultural water. Jinju City will continue to monitor field conditions and water demand through local administrative offices.
To ensure smooth water supply support via fire trucks, Jinju City is confirming the target sites, guiding vehicle routes, and providing administrative on-site support. It also plans to adjust the scope of support and the amount of water delivered if additional needs arise due to changes in the drought situation.
In particular, if the drought continues long-term, crop damage from an agricultural water shortage could worsen. Therefore, the city will continue to monitor precipitation, reservoirs, rivers, and other agricultural water sources, and maintain water support for areas in need.
A city official said, "We are currently checking field conditions in areas facing difficulties in securing agricultural water due to insufficient recent rainfall" and added, "We will continue to monitor weather and water supply conditions to ensure that necessary regions receive the support they need."
Meanwhile, this emergency water supply support is being carried out using fire trucks deployed to Jinju under the national fire mobilization order. Jinju City plans to respond to the drought situation in cooperation with local administrative bodies and relevant agencies.
