Millie's Library Q2 Sales Reach 23.8 Billion Won, Up 15.2% Year-on-Year
Cumulative Sales Reach 47.8 Billion Won, Operating Profit Totals 7.3 Billion Won in First Half
Business Expansion Through Overseas Licensing of Original IP and Webtoon Distribution
kt Millie's Library announced on August 12 that its revenue for the second quarter of this year reached 23.8 billion won, marking a 15.2% increase compared to the same period last year.
The cumulative revenue for the first half of the year was 47.8 billion won, up 17.4% year-on-year. Operating profit came to 3.4 billion won in the second quarter, with a cumulative 7.3 billion won for the first half.
Millie's Library is expanding its original intellectual property (IP) business based on its subscription model. In the first half of this year, the company expanded its business scope to overseas licensing deals for its own IPs and the distribution of webtoons.
The original IP "Gwihwaseo, I Protect the Last Flower" was licensed for rights in Türkiye. "I Almost Lived Diligently" was exported to Thailand and Kazakhstan, "Not Dead, Just Paused" to Russia, and "Lost Items Have Returned" to Vietnam, with licensing for each respective region.
The original web novel "Goongno," which was released last year, was adapted into a webtoon and published in June on the Japanese webcomic platform "Mecha Comic." It ranked as high as fifth place in the weekly rankings immediately after launch. Millie's Library stated that this success demonstrates the potential for expanding its IP business from discovering web novels, producing webtoons, and distributing them internationally.
