The evaluation was based on the center’s operational performance and Gyeonggi-do’s specialized project outcomes from January to December of the previous year. Sixteen indicators in six areas were reviewed: employment and entrepreneurship target achievement rates, the number of job seekers identified, employment rate of participants in the Women's New Employment Internship program, post-employment follow-up management, and the Gyeonggi Women’s Employment Support Allowance, among others.
In the previous year, the Siheung Women's New Employment Support Center recorded 3,123 employment cases, the highest among all 158 Women's New Employment Support Centers nationwide. The achievement rate for employment and entrepreneurship targets was 109%, and the employment rate for Women's New Employment Interns reached 100%. The center also supported the establishment of cooperatives to encourage women’s participation in economic activities and help create sustainable jobs.
The city established a system that offers comprehensive support, from job counseling and vocational education and training to job placement and post-employment follow-up management, all in one place. The center received high marks for effectively connecting jobs by taking into account the workforce needs of local companies and the career histories and specialties of women job seekers.
Hong Seungil, Director of the Economic Affairs Department, stated, “Achieving first place overall for seven consecutive years is the result of the joint efforts of the local community, companies, and field workers to support women with career experience as they make new starts. We will continue to do our best to provide customized job support that reflects the life cycle and needs of women, so they can stably enter society and fully demonstrate their capabilities.”
