Financial Services Commission Recruiting Second-Half Participants for '2026 D-Testbed'
Recruitment Divided Into General and AI Tracks; 15 Teams to Be Selected
High-Performance GPU Resources Provided for AI Track
The Financial Services Commission announced on August 12 that it will be accepting applications for participants in the second half of the '2026 D-Testbed' program, which supports the demonstration of innovative ideas by fintech companies and prospective entrepreneurs, from today until September 8.
D-Testbed is a program that offers a test environment, allowing fintech companies and aspiring entrepreneurs to directly validate the business potential of their innovative ideas by utilizing financial data and analytical platforms. The program began as a pilot in 2021 and has seen the participation of 170 teams through last year. In the first half of this year, 25 teams were selected and are currently conducting tests.
This year's second half recruitment consists of three categories: ▲Collaborative Project, ▲Public Interest Project, and ▲Open Proposal. Individuals, teams, and companies with ideas they wish to test can freely choose a category and participate.
The application process is divided into a general track and an AI track. The commission plans to select a total of 15 teams and provide them with a test environment, which includes access to real data and a remote analytical system, for 12 weeks. In particular, teams selected for the AI track will receive additional support in the form of high-performance computing resources (GPUs) to enable large-scale computation in the remote analysis environment.
Follow-up support will also be provided to help ensure that ideas can progress to commercialization. This includes mentoring by experts in areas such as law, investment, statistical analysis, and security, as well as providing evaluation reports on the feasibility of the test process and commercialization potential.
Applicants may also receive additional points during the screening process when applying to support programs operated by the Korea Fintech Support Center, such as 'Fintech Cube' and 'Digital Financial Technology Internalization.' Fintech Cube is a program that supports fintech startups with scaling up and market expansion both domestically and abroad, including provision of office space. The Digital Financial Technology Internalization program supports operating funds for outstanding fintech firms within three years of establishment.
This year, D-Testbed has expanded the scope of its demonstration support. The maximum data provision period has been extended from three to five years, and participants are now allowed to bring in and use external datasets, provided that pseudonymization or anonymization has been completed, within the analysis environment.
Prospective participants can select a category and application track, and submit their application via the D-Testbed website. For further details, please visit the website or contact the Korea Fintech Support Center.
