SSG.com Sees 12% Increase in July Grocery Sales... "Expanding 2-Hour Delivery to 50 Stores"
Store-Based ‘Weekly Delivery’ Sales Up 30%
‘SSG7 Club’ Membership Retention Rate Exceeds 90%
SSG.com announced on August 12, 2026, that as a result of upgrading its delivery system and strengthening its paid membership ‘SSG7 Club,’ grocery sales last month rose by 12% compared to the same month last year.
SSG.com is expanding delivery options so that customers can receive their desired products at their preferred time. The strategy is to enhance its existing scheduled delivery service and expand on-demand delivery, thus diversifying delivery choices.
‘SSG Weekly Delivery,’ which runs as a scheduled delivery service using E-Mart stores as hubs, has subdivided available time slots and boosted delivery volume. As a result, sales from ‘SSG Weekly Delivery’ in the second quarter increased by 17% compared to the same period last year, and in July, the growth rate surged to nearly 30%. For on-demand delivery, the ‘BaroQuick’ service—which delivers products within a 3 km radius of stores in about one hour—is rapidly gaining popularity. In the second quarter, order volume increased by 151% compared to the first quarter and, as of June, showed a 244% growth compared to January.
Last month, SSG.com began pilot operations of ‘2-Hour Delivery’ at E-Mart’s Yangjae and Hanam locations. This service enables quick delivery for large-volume shopping, complementing the smaller-scale ‘BaroQuick’ service to develop a comprehensive delivery system. This month, SSG.com will additionally launch ‘2-Hour Delivery’ at around 10 more stores, including major areas in Seoul as well as Busan-Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Daejeon, and will expand to as many as 50 stores by the end of the year. By year-end, the company aims to secure delivery processing capacity for up to 150,000 orders per day and build a tightly integrated delivery network covering both scheduled and on-demand services.
Synergies with E-Mart are also becoming apparent in terms of product offerings and promotions. Leveraging E-Mart’s fresh food competitiveness, SSG.com is enhancing product assortment and quality, while also focusing on cold chain management such as insulated packaging to ensure freshness during delivery. In the second quarter, more than 6 out of 10 customers who purchased fresh products under the ‘Freshness Guarantee Program’ made repeat purchases of fresh food within the same quarter.
Online sales for E-Mart’s signature promotion, the ‘Goraeit Festa,’ also increased. During the event in the second quarter, average daily sales rose by 20% compared to the previous quarter.
The retention rate for ‘SSG7 Club,’ the membership program that rewards 7% of grocery purchase amounts, exceeded 90%. Shopping basket value for members was more than 90% higher than that of non-members, and their purchasing frequency was about twice as high. Last quarter, members’ average monthly reward points were approximately three times the monthly subscription fee, and for VIP members, about ten times greater. In July, after running weekly membership-linked promotions, member sales rose by 15% compared to the previous month.
